Who We Are
About Common Cup
Common Cup Ministry is a nonprofit organization that unites local churches to serve individuals who often slip through the cracks of traditional aid systems. Through a voucher-based assistance program, local churches and dedicated volunteers provide not only financial support but also spiritual and emotional care. The ministry is guided by a board of directors representing member churches and the local Ministerial Association, and it benefits from the insight of an Advisory Council. Together, they work to address immediate needs while planning for a more compassionate and connected future.
Our Mission
To gather and share Spiritual and financial resources into one
“common cup” to serve those in need through the love and grace of Christ.
Member churches continue to utilize their Good Samaritan-type funds to assist their congregational members. Through a voucher system, Common Cup Ministry funds are distributed by dedicated volunteers, reaching individuals who may fall outside the scope of other available assistance. In addition to providing financial support, Common Cup volunteers offer spiritual guidance, emotional encouragement, and essential resources to those facing hardship.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Common Cup Ministry is governed by a board of directors representing the member churches and the Ministerial Association of Hutchinson, Glencoe, Silver Lake, and Plato. Each member church also designates representatives to serve on an Advisory Council, which meets monthly with the Director to foster communication, address ongoing needs, and guide the future direction of the organization.
In addition to these efforts, Common Cup Ministry participates in the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS), providing supplemental nutrition support to eligible seniors in our community.
